Smoke House

SMOKE HOUSE is a new North Bay band of veteran pro players who are dedicated to keeping the traditions of New Orleans funk and rhythm and blues alive. They draw from the music of The Meters, Dr. John, Jon Cleary, Huey Piano Smith, Allen Toussaint and more. The songs are performed with love and care and above all are very danceable.

Bobby Z is not just another one of those great guitarists and singers you’ve never heard of. Choosing to eschew fame and the bright lights he has labored unceremoniously for years in such critically acclaimed but unknown groups as The Fibrillators, Big Fun, Lucky Dog, Desda and Bobby Z, The Bobby Z Blues Band, The Honeymooners, The Buzzards, and of course, Deacon and the Suprelles.

Drummer Terry Baker has performed, recorded and toured with many bands that you never heard of or totally forgot about, including The Cabrillo College Jazz Band, Peter Rowan, Norton Buffalo, Roy Rogers & the Delta Rhythm Kings, Brian Auger, Commander Cody, Joe Louis Walker, Annie Sampson, Angela Strehli, and of course, Smokehouse.

Chris Hanson has played bass with avant-jazz-funk outfits President’s Breakfast and the Love Posse, as well as South Bay favorites SoulBurst. Performed with DyzJoint and the Simone White Quartet, which also featured Will Bernard. Recorded albums with Friendly Ghosts, Peter Forbes and others.
