Wendy Gruber Career Development Grant
This special grant is in memory of Wendy Gruber. Founded to reflect and honor the late Marin artist, the award captures her vision of artists thriving when given guidance in the marketing and business development aspects of Career Development. Wendy Gruber was a Marin Arts Council member and long time Open Studio participant. Her family and friends have established a donor advised fund at the Marin Community Foundation for the purpose of supporting this award.
Currently suspended, seeking replacement funding.
Colleen Proppé (San Anselmo) was the recipient of the 2008 Wendy Gruber Career Development Grant. The grant is to assist this emerging plein air painter with costs associated with creating and marketing her work.

This grant will allow me to purchase supplies, frames and advertise my next 2 shows, and more importantly, it is an award that will allow me to meet artists that can further inspire my work.
Receiving a grant like this also allows me to have a way to promote myself to others in the future, and may eventually lead to me being able to show in local galleries.
I am delighted to have received the grant and it really is most important as an award - a symbol/sign that you are actually supposed to be doing this … validation of sorts.
