2009 Grantees
- Jeffrey Braverman – Support for printing portraits in REVEILLE series, photographs of US military veterans, creating a body of work to exhibit.
- Jessie Feller – Support for tuition in the 2009 Spring Program of San Francisco Conservatory of Dance to further career in dance and choreography.
- Lisa Hamilton - Support for June 2009 book tour to promote first book as a creative non-fiction writer.
- Julia Norton - Support for purchase of specialized vocal equipment for use on recording projects to improve production quality.
- Nina Wise - Support for purchase of a laptop computer to enable the development of visual, graphic and projected elements for her play, The Keplar Project.
2008 Grantees
- Molly Maguire (Bolinas) - Purchase of specialized equipment to present her musical compositions and to work in community settings with music and theater productions.
- Moses Sedler (San Rafael)- Support for a professional studio recording of his musical compositions for submission to several modern dance and ballet companies.
- Debbie Goodwin (San Anselmo)- Support to obtain professional public relations and marketing services to promote her new performance "Tango: A Romantic Ritual."
- Eric John Hoffman (San Rafael) - Support for purchase of specialized display equipment and for preparation of work for an upcoming exhibit.
- Jacqueline Mallegni (Bolinas) - Support to attend a series of workshops on natural architecture techniques with internationally recognized faculty at the North Country Studio Workshops in the winter of 2009.
- Anita Jones (Novato) - to assist with expenses of attending the Robert McKee Story Seminar in Los Angeles and to purchase a laser printer.
- Karen Benke (Mill Valley) - to attend the Agents and Editors Conference in Texas to pitch her poetry manuscript and a poetry book for children.
- Sarah Cain (Mill Valley) - to assist with travel for a European exhibit and to seek gallery representation in Europe.
- Mary O'Brien (Fairfax) - to purchase a ceramic kiln to allow for increased production of her sculptural pieces.
- Karrie Hovey (Mill Valley) - to attend an artist residency program in the Netherlands in the summer of 2008 to create a site-specific solo exhibition.
- Tara Pandeya (San Anselmo) - to purchase a laptop for the documentation, research and promotion of her career as a performer of Central Asian dance traditions.
- Lauren Bartone (San Rafael) - to assist with purchase of equipment to integrate digital imaging and image manipulation into her mixed media work.
- Karen Hampton (Woodacre) - to assist with documentation of her work in the textile series "Namesake: The Heart & Soul of Who We Are."
- Karen Gideon (Greenbrae) - to attend the Asilomar Writers Conference and the Big Sur Writing Workshop as a step towards publication of one of her five novels.
- Gerald Fleming (Lagunitas) - to assist with costs associated with attending the Associated Writers Programs conference in New York City.
- Ian Dogole (Mill Valley) - to help support a new recording project of the applicants work in collaboration with the group Hemispheres.
Wendy Gruber - Career Development
Honoring the late Marin artist, this special award founded by family and friends...
captures Wendy's vision of artists marketing themselves in ways which reflect their own personalities and art. Wendy Gruber was a long time Marin Arts Council member and Open Studios participant.
