MISSION STATEMENT

• Foster a spirit of cooperation and mutual helpfulness among its members;
• Create and further public interest in painting, sculpture, graphic, plastic, decorative and industrial arts, by the erection and maintenance of an art gallery;
• The holding of exhibitions;
• Advance art education;
• Afford and encourage opportunities for the establishment of permanent art collections and art endowments;
• Provide lectures, classes, instruction and practice in the arts and crafts in support of this mission.

To the artists and the communities of Marin County and beyond, the Marin Society of Artists is a dynamic nonprofit [501(c)3] art organization whose members have a diverse richness of talent, knowledge and experience. We offer an unparalleled environment to discover, develop and appreciate artistic expression.

Marin Society of Artists is the longest running, active art organization in Marin County and we are the intersection where artists and community gather. We believe discovering life’s art is a personal journey and we nurture artists in their quest of creative expression empowering them with solutions they can own and expertise they can take forward.

We assume the responsibility to properly promote the understanding and enjoyment of art. We do this through earnest dialog, diverse exhibitions, classes, workshops and innovative education programs that are woven into the fabric of our thriving community.
