Osher Marin JCC

The Osher Marin JCC is a non-profit community organization – a place where people can enhance their lives through various activities that reflect the unique values of Jewish history and culture. We invite the entire community to take advantage of our family-friendly environment featuring award-winning pools and fitness center, performing arts center, adult classes, cultural trips and excursions, preschool, parent & toddler classes, swim lessons, summer day camps, Jewish culture and festivals, and so much more.

The Osher Marin JCC Mission Statement 
The mission of the Osher Marin JCC is to celebrate, strengthen and sustain Jewish life and culture, to build cross-cultural understanding, and to enrich the lives of those in the community at large.

The Kanbar Center for the Performing Arts at the Osher Marin JCC boasts 3 performing arts venues.

The Hoytt Theater is a grand room. Featuring art-deco inspired chandeliers and sconces as well as a 30′ ceiling with exposed beams, it is the Osher Marin JCC’s large indoor venue, hosting performances including New Century Chamber Orchestra, jazz greats, multicultural music, internationally known authors in conversation, dance parties, stand-up comedy and more.  With versatile seating and dance floor options, most events offer intimate cabaret seating at small, round candle-lit tables.  Parquet floors, theatrical lighting & sound and a beautiful stage create just the right ambiance for an array of performances and programs as well as community fundraisers and family celebrations.

Most events offer concessions including Peets Coffee, teas, fresh baked goods, snacks, beer & wine.  Some events may offer a full bar.  Please check event web page.  Concessions allowed in theater, no table service.

Swig Field offers the Kanbar Center’s annual Summer Nights Festival, a series of 4 to 5 consecutive Saturday nights of family-friendly, multi-cultural, concerts from 7pm – 10pm.  Each year Kanbar’s partnership with Brandeis Marin School, allows them to transform the school playground into an amazing outdoor venue.  Located uphill from the JCC, Swig Field is surrounded on all sides by the Marin hills and the JCC building, creating a self-contained, safe, outdoor park-like environment removed from the street.  Accommodating up to 900 people, the area consists of concrete and turf areas, a fabulous playground, kid size climbing wall, picnic tables and permanent outdoor stage.

The Kurland Lounge, though not used often,  is a multi-functional space that is used for more intimate, smaller events.  Seating approx. 75, the built-in audiovisual equipment makes it ideal for a small lecture or author events.
