Anne-Marie De Rivera

My representational and figurative paintings grew out of the European influence of my early childhood, with the colors, passion, and folklore of Latin America where I resided many years.

My art Education at L’Ecole de Beaux Arts de Geneve in Switzerland was largely focused on the Fauves artists such as Matisse, Gaughin and Rouault.

Fascinated by nature, I perceive trees living as families with vital personalities. I am attracted to their relationship to water, depicting their reflections and their interaction.

With the human figure and the animal form, either in portraits of people or their pets, my work focuses on revealing the moods and feelings of my subjects through their attitude and posture often surrounded by imaginary backgrounds.

I have  enjoyed working at my studio at the ICB Building in Sausalito since 1988.
