John Olmstead

John Olmstead is a keyboardist specializing in american music styles.

Influenced by American keyboard styles of gospel, country, blues and rock he plays the classic vintage tones of Hammond, Wulitzer, Fender, Clavinet and Moog.

Musical influences include Brent Mydlan, Pigpen, Billy Preston, Adam Mcdougall, Merle Sanders, Melvin Seals, John Medeski, Bernie Worrell,, Bill Paine, Art Neville Herbie Hancock, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Richard Wright, John Lord, Keith Emerson, Jimmy McGriff, and Jan Hammer among others.

Currently performs with Bluelight Cheap Hotel, The Michael Brown Band and Fistful of Scandal.  Past bands include The Bad Hombres, The Marinfidels, Itchy McGuirk and The Mark Kafoury Band.
