I am an oil painter and a Bay Area native who currently lives and works in Mill Valley. I received a degree in illustration from Academy of Art University in San Francisco and a degree in fine art from the University of San Francisco. Later I studied at College of Marin and City College of San Francisco where I focused on a deeper understanding of the human figure working with live models as a foundation for both drawing and painting. I have been exhibiting my work since 2013.
I am interested in exploring dislocation in a world of intensifying change. As humans continue to manipulate and often unconsciously effect the natural world I wonder if we are becoming any better at recognizing the repercussions and the limits to which these manipulations can be successful. How are these changes affecting our bodies and environment, both physically and in the way that we interact with the natural world and each other? Our expansion has gone on mostly unchecked and this will have to be addressed as we discover the limits of sustainability and consumption.
