Faces In The Clouds

I have always been an artist. “I see faces In the clouds”. 
My art is personal, about something happening in my life, my surroundings, or in my mind. I love color, and use it with abandon. It is important to me to be surrounded by color and art in all parts of my life.

Making books is my passion. I use mixed media including acrylics, watercolor, gold leaf and collage. My books are unique, handmade accordion books about music festivals, trips, working, playing and lots more. Preparing and building them is a lengthy process. The books feature drawings, descriptions and collage of photographs, and often relate to musical events. I work on site and then in my studio. My creations use words and photos to make a long collage.

I love drawing and have been meeting with a group in Bolinas for over 30 years drawing from models.

Art school and travel stimulated me. I combined the two with studies at various schools including Bard College, University of Arizona, University of Artes Plastica for a summer in Guadalajara, Mexico and an internship at the New York Graphic Workshop, and the I received my Master’s Degree at The San Francisco Art Institute.

I managed a folk singer, Rosalie Sorrels, and owned a restaurant, did fresco secco finishes on stucco and other things but I was always making art.

I love teaching and have always been a teacher, even as a child I shared my big tin box of crayons and suggested strongly the colors friends should use together.  I am the host of Coastal Airwaves on KWMR, local Community radio. I have conversations with people who love what they do because I love what I do.
