Participatory community dance, a call for peace and safety for all the world’s children
Anna Halprin will lead her 39th Annual Planetary Dance—an inspiring community dance for peace among people and peace with the Earth—on Sunday, June 2.
The main event is at 11:00 am in Santos Meadow, Mount Tamalpais State Park.
This participatory community dance is a call for peace among peoples and peace on the Earth with a special focus on making the world safe and healthy for all children.
All ages and abilities are invited. “This year we want to honor and stand with the children who are calling for action to protect their future,” says Halprin.
“I believe the Planetary Dance speaks to people’s need for healing and connection, for a sense of belonging. It is in some sense a dance of survival. It gives everyone a means of expressing concern about what is going on in the world and a sense of hope, offering a way to gather strength and take action.”
Please bring your own water and lunch food.
You can also join special ceremonies:
– 5:45 am sunrise atop Mt. Tam
– 8:00 am at Muir Beach
– Sunset at Muir Beach
Event is free, but donations appreciated.
