August Writing Retreat

Calling all poets and writers of all levels!

Celebrate the summer months with the Point Reyes Field Institute for a day of writing prompts, community-building, and reflective space in nature.

This workshop is open to all levels of writers and will include explorations of the local environment, quiet time, and a chance to share your favorite written work from the day.

We will take breaks here and there, including a lunch break around noon. Towards the end, we will have an “Open Mic” circle where I encourage everyone to read, but it’s largely up to participants.

We will meet at 10:00 am at the Red Barn Classroom. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in. Details upon registration! Sales end 48 hours before the start date. Waitlists are available when the class sells out.

Please feel free to bring your favorite piece of prose, or a poem that inspires you, as well as any questions you have about writing in general.
