Beauty and the Beast: California Wildflowers and Climate Change

This traveling photography exhibit stops at the Bay Model Visitor Center for two months!

Opening Reception:
* Saturday, April 6, 1:00–3:00 pm

Meet the Artists at Marin Open Studios:
* Sat-Sun, May 4–5 & 11–12, 11:00 am–6:00 pm

Exhibit Dates:  April 2 – June 1

Award-winning photographers Rob Badger and Nita Winter have spent 20 years capturing California’s vanishing wildflowers, bringing awareness to their beauty as well as to the dangers facing our natural habitats from climate change.

This exhibition features over 50 images (up to four feet wide) of wildflower portraits and floral landscapes. Large text panels provide information about climate change, species extinction, land conservation, “citizen science,” calls-to-action and more. A large, colorful map of the state’s diverse botanical regions and a description of each was co-created with the California Native Plant Society.

It is sponsored by the Marin chapter of the California Native Plant Society, with support from the Buck Family Fund and MMWD.

Guest speakers on climate change issues and wildflower hikes in Marin will be scheduled during April and May.
