Try something new this new year! How about painting? This is for BEGINNERS!
Dive into painting this winter!
In this 5 week class, you will learn about basic color theory, color mixing and basic composition.
The first 3 sessions will be devoted to learning these essential elements of painting then painting a still life in black and white and then in color.
The final 2 sessions you will delve into abstraction. Over the course of the five weeks, we will also look at the work of other painters, both emerging and established, via slideshows.
Water-based media (acrylic or gouache preferable) only, please.
Facilitator: Alexandra Bailliere is a local artist who works in her studio at the O’Hanlon Center. She loves stretching the boundaries of painting and has painted with everything from sea water, mud and plaster. Alexandra also teaches at College of Marin and City College Fort Mason. She has an MFA from Mills College.
