Honoring a vibrant tradition which began thirty-seven years ago, Gallery Route One is pleased to announce its 2021 Annual Artist Members’ Exhibition of two and three-dimensional art, Being Human Now: Twenty Perspectives.

Deeply relevant to the problems of our current times, the exhibit not only considers our human capacity to negotiate adversity, but also explores the quest for renewal through the personal practice of artmaking.

The larger metric of life processes, as well as the status of nature itself, become informed by our experiential relationship with the planet at an entirely unique moment as we tentatively emerge from the COVID age.

In the spirit which characterizes the gallery’s presence as a collaborative organization of artists, Being Human Now embraces the human need for discerning the path to personal and societal identities, at the same time fostering a foundational exploration of our global context in an environmentally challenged world.

Within this theme, the exhibit features a diverse variety of artwork by the gallery’s twenty artist members whose innovative pieces have been executed across a wide spectrum of media: painting, artists’ books, drawing, photography, mixed media, and sculpture.
