"Between the Lines" - Tapestries by Sue Weil
Please note, this event has expired.
First Tuesday Artwalk Receptions: Nov 7 and Dec 5, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Join us for a wine and light bites artist reception for Sue Weil: Tuesday, November 7 and December 5.
Her original handwoven tapestries will be on display from November 1 – December 31.
In the artist’s own words:
“I’ve been told that the weight, line and balance in my pieces reflect an architect’s sensibility. Feeling that often less is more, my designs are intentionally spare, exploring rhythm and asymmetry in bold compositions.
Some of my pieces reflect an inner call for peace while other works may address the intensifying discord in our world. Through my work, I seek to find balance between active engagement in events surrounding us, and the periodic need to retreat for reflection and self-renewal.”
Sue Weil earned her Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude in Social Anthropology from Harvard University, studying art there as well as at The Art Institute of Chicago and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. Combining her interests in anthropology and art, she is especially drawn to weaving’s cultural universality. Weil has exhibited in solo and juried group exhibitions around the US and recently in Australia.
