Marin Open Studios cancels the Spring 2020 Open Studios event

We are staying home to slow the spread of the COVID19 virus.

This means that all Marin cultural and arts events have been postponed or cancelled and sadly, that includes the cancellation of Marin Open Studios 2020.

The Board of Directors has devoted many hours to considering other ways to keep Marin Open Studios alive in 2020 and we will devote many more.

You’ll hear from us soon. In the meantime, we want to answer some questions here:

DO YOU MEAN THERE WILL BE NO MARIN OPEN STUDIOS IN 2020?
There will be no Marin Open Studios in May of 2020.

WHAT ABOUT THE MARIN OPEN STUDIOS GALLERY AT TOWN CENTER?
We hope to have a Pop Up Exhibit in 2020. It’s too early to know whether this will be possible. If it’s allowed, we’ll be there, open for business, selling your art perhaps at another time of the year.

I NEED MARIN OPEN STUDIOS TO HELP ME SELL ART YEAR-ROUND. ANY OTHER IDEAS?
YES! We have many ideas. An online gallery, an online auction, an online fundraiser with some cool prizes and expanding the Marin Open Studios website to be a deeper resource for art lovers. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO RIGHT AWAY?
As we look for anything that qualifies as the tiniest sliver of a silver lining, it’s the opportunity for art lovers to spend time online looking at art and artists. We plan to create a campaign encouraging this. Please see our website for virtual video tours, and the 2020 Tour Guide.
