15% Holiday Discount – three ceramic artists with a deep reverence for nature
Friday-Sunday, November 26-28
We’re pleased to announce a special holiday pop up at Blunk Space featuring the work of Erica Iman, Bill Geisinger, and Bean Finneran.
These three artists approach their shared medium of clay from three distinct perspectives which are bound by a deep reverence for nature.
Erica Iman, based in Kansas City, Missouri, makes hand-built, one-of-a-kind vessels that are often reflective of forms or fragments found in nature. She enjoys the raw properties of clay and minerals and is continuously experimenting with these materials and processes to advance her work.
Bill Geisinger’s ceramics are made from clay sourced and dug from around his home in Sebastopol, California. He fires his kiln using local eucalyptus wood. The fallen ash on the earthy surface of the clay creates micro landscapes that are surprising and captivating.
Bean Finneran’s vases and sculptures are inspired by the marshlands surrounding her Greenbrae studio in California. The basic components she observers in nature – stacks, lines, coils – are reconstructed into deliberately abstract ceramic forms.
The pop up will take place at Blunk Space Friday, November 26–Sunday, November 28 from 12–5pm and is organized by Jeffrey Spahn Gallery, curator of our current exhibition Ceramics: Mingei to Modern.
