DjangoFest Mill Valley celebrates the infectious music and spirit of the great Gypsy Jazz guitarist, Django Reinhardt, who pioneered the style almost a century ago. This will mark the festival’s 14th year in Mill Valley, and it promises to once again, bring together some of the world’s best and brightest musicians.

The festival kicks-off with Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis, bassist Simon Planting, and guitarist Brad Brose.

Following the concert, attendees are invited to join us for an after-party (details TBA).

Join us for 4 days of scintillating music, concerts, workshops and of course, impromptu “djams” – this year’s line-up is one of the best yet!

MUSICIAN BIOS (see website for more detail)

Award-winning Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis has created a brand new style that embraces classical, gypsy jazz and folk. Hailed as a ‘current-day improvising Paganini’, his inclusive approach to music has united audiences and is influencing a new generation of string players.

Dutch double bassist Simon Planting studied Classical bass at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Jazz at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam before embarking on a professional career that has seen him perform in concerts and festivals around the globe.

From Hollywood, California, Brad Brose performed with some of the best swing musicians that the U.S. has to offer. After playing in swing dance clubs and festivals throughout California, Brad decided to move to Paris in 2009 to directly learn Europe’s greatest contribution to jazz: Jazz Manouche (French for Gypsy Jazz). In Paris, he plays his gypsy jazz guitar along with the best and most well-known jazz manouche artists.
