Come enjoy an evening of jazz with Noel Jewkes, Alex Markels, and Jack Prendergast
Join us at the FairFix Cafe for great music and a good atmosphere on Saturday, February 29th from 6-9pm.
There’s some great jazz to be heard at this show, a collaboration between Noel Jewkes on sax/clarinet, Jack Prendergast on bass, and Alex Markels on guitar.
Noel Jewkes is a legendary Bay Area performer on the saxophone and clarinet. “Noel Jewkes is the best mainstream reedman in the Bay Area…. I don’t know of a better contemporary modern saxman anywhere.” — Phil Elwood, Music Critic of the S. F. Examiner
Jack Prendergast has worked and recorded with a wide array of artists. Inspired by the great bassists, jazz giants Ron Carter and Ray Brown, Motown legend James Jamerson and Beatles bassist Paul McCartney, Jack became a student of the bass role in jazz and all forms of popular music. Jack is an in-demand player and began recording at age 19.
Alex Markels has been accompanying well known jazz vocalists and playing in jazz ensembles around the Bay Area for many decades. Alex’s passion for the art of accompaniment informs his arranging as well as his playing.
The FairFix is a great cafe, located at 33 Broadway in Fairfax.
