Exhibitions Opening at Bolinas Museum

Three new exhibitions at Bolinas Museum with a common thread of design and interiors are opening Saturday, January 28. Exhibition Previews with the Artists & Curators from 2-3pm and 3-5pm Reception!

In the Main Gallery, Bolinas Museum is proud to present, CHAIR STORIES, curated by Jennifer Gately.

With a mix of aesthetic sensibilities and design histories, Chair Stories features chairs chosen by architects, artists, designers, and design experts with ties to coastal Marin along with personal narratives describing how the chosen chair has influenced their life, professional thinking, or design practice; some participants also contributed a chair of their own design.

Participants include: Valentino Agnoli, Joseph Becker, Yves Behar, Tripp Carpenter, Lara Deam, Chris Deam, Charles de Lisle, Rob Forbes, John Lum, Eric McDougall, Sim Van der Ryn, and Ido Yoshimoto

In the Coastal Marin Artists Gallery, CAREY CHERNEY: FIRE & LIGHT, curated by Elia Haworth.  Stoneware and raku lighting and vessels inspired by nature and Japanese aesthetics by Bolinas ceramicist Carey Cherney, perfect for home and garden.

In the Helene Sturdivant Mayne Photography Gallery, HOME STUDIES: PORTRAITS WITHOUT PEOPLE, curated by Renee Zellweger. An intimate collection of interior portraits from iconic mid-century modern designers by San Francisco Photographer Leslie Williamson.
