Our professional New Mexico guide and O’Keeffe Museum docent, Jerry returns with a new lecture about the early Taos Art Colony that was established in New Mexico in 1898.
Hear about several of the artists – such as Ernest Blumenshein, Bert Phillips, and Joseph Sharp – and explore the interpretation of many of their works, while considering the culture and the patrons who helped the artists in their creation of their art.
Also, dive into some of the iconic and influential New Mexico photographs of Ansel Adams.
Jerry has been guiding tours in Santa Fe and around New Mexico for over 25 years! He was a docent at the New Mexico Museum of Art for 15 years and at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum for over 20 years. For over 15 years, he has been a lecturer for Road Scholars, covering a variety of subjects including Georgia O’Keeffe, the early artists of New Mexico, and the architecture and history of Santa Fe.
