The Fairfax Bilingual Book Club meets once each month, virtually on Zoom, from 7-8pm.

Our next meeting is Friday August 13, 2021.  As this book is a bit long, we are going to read it over 2 months (the second meeting is Friday, September 10), but we are going to have our monthly meeting to talk about what we are reading.

New Year’s Eve, 1975: Arturo Belano and Ulises Lima, founders of the visceral realist movement in poetry, leave Mexico City in a borrowed white Impala. Their quest: To track down the obscure, vanished poet Cesarea Tinajero. A violent showdown in the Sonora desert turns search to flight; twenty years later Belano and Lima are still on the run.

La novela narra la búsqueda de la poetisa mexicana Cesárea Tinajero, por parte de dos jóvenes poetas fundadores de un movimiento de poesía llamado los real visceralistas, el chileno Arturo Belano y el mexicano Ulises Lima.

Como este libro es un poco largo, lo vamos a leer durante 2 meses (la segunda reunión es el viernes 10 de septiembre), pero vamos a tener nuestra reunión mensual para hablar sobre lo que estamos leyendo.
