The story of an undocumented singer-songwriter’s music and journey home

Please join Canal Alliance and the Association of Latino Marin Attorneys (ALMA) for a virtual screening of Dear Homeland.

Dear Homeland is a documentary film by Claudia Escobar produced by KQED that shares the story of undocumented immigrant singer/songwriter Diana Gameros’ coming of age in the United States as she journeys from her home Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, to San Francisco, California. We see her assert herself as a musician and advocate for immigrant rights and discover her story about family, resilience and the complex meaning of the word home.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Lucia Martel-Dow, Director of Immigration and Social Services at Canal Alliance.

Experience the Power of Undocustories
Arriving to the U.S. for school but unable to extend her stay, Diana Gameros became an undocumented immigrant who couldn’t return to her beloved homeland. Follow her journey back home in the documentary screening of Dear Homeland.
