The MVAC’s Virtual ArtWalk for May 2021 features Artist: Raymond Sumser.

Exhibition Dates:  May 4 – May 31

Our Virtual ArtWalk for May 2021 features artist Raymond Sumser.

Featured Artist Raymond Sumser was originally scheduled to have an in-person exhibition during 2020 at a City of Mill Valley location.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have created a virtual environment to display his art.  (See gallery for artist contact information.)

Raymond Sumser is a lifelong artist with an insatiable need to create and a passion for learning. He maintains deep practices in drawing, filmmaking, music, writing and his greatest love: painting.

As a visual artist Sumser has explored a breadth of subject matter and approach. From cartoon to abstract, natural to symbolic, expressive to technical, he collects styles and languages. Since returning to California from New York in 2017, he has immersed himself in the landscapes that defined his early visual vocabulary.

His latest work is a celebration of the awesome, unexpected and dynamic landforms, color-sets and atmospheres that define Northern California, specifically Marin County and Mill Valley.

He is excited to share his work in his hometown and is eager to connect with the visual community there.
