Join Steven Pitsenbarger, historian, Mill Valley resident, and present-day gardener at the Japanese Tea Garden for a discussion on the lives and legacies of George Turner Marsh and Samuel Newsom, two men with a passion for Japanese gardens, art, and culture who also left an indelible mark on Mill Valley.
Steven Pitsenbarger has worked as a gardener at the Japanese Tea Garden since 2007. An expert in Japanese gardens, he has presented on the Japanese Tea Garden’s history at conferences and workshops around the country. He is currently on the board of directors for the North American Garden Association, and was published in the NAJGA Journal in 2019.
