LOCAL>> Leadership Artistry: Cultivating Meaningful Change at Work and in Life

Ken Otter PhD

In this experiential workshop, we explore the marriage of leadership with Ken Otter, PhD

In this experiential workshop, we explore the marriage of leadership and art through the lens and practice of the Life-Art Process.

* Saturday, February 18, 9:30 am

In this experiential workshop, we explore the marriage of leadership and art through the lens and practice of the Life-Art Process. In concert with an integrative model of learning and change, we explore the power of art and the process of art making to enhance your learning and practice of leadership.

In this workshop, art making is presented as a process linking the particular art medium, craft skills, and creativity to generate unique forms and experiences. Art making involves cyclical and ongoing learning and discovery rooted in experimentation and innovation. We apply this to cultivating our leadership practice as an artistic and improvisational one.

About:
From my first exposure to Collective Creativity in 1981 as a participant in the Search for Living Myths and Rituals through Dance and the Environment and through several years participating in Collective Creativity projects with both Anna and Larry. Collective Creativity has been a passionate focus for me–personally, academically and professionally–ever since. One could say, I am now a Collective Creativity evangelist.

To get the most out of this online class, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device and reliable internet service. Also, have art supplies ready at hand for the drawing activity and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.

Ken Otter, PhD: It was experiencing the environmental work of Anna and Larry Halprin over 40 years ago that moved me to drop everything and immerse myself in the transformative power of the Life/Art Process, first as a student and performer, and then as a teacher. Enacting the Life/Art Process to awaken our inherent belonging and participation to the whole of nature has been an integral part of my life and work ever since.
