During Shelter in Place artists have had an opportunity to look inward more than ever. What have they found out about themselves?

We invited artists to explore their identity, their passions, hobbies, places they love, their dreams, their daily schedule.  To show others who they are now with their unique self portrait.

The tradition of the self-portrait is centuries old, with a cohort of classic creators includes artists such as Cindy Sherman, Chuck Close, Frida Kahlo and Vincent van Gogh. But it has never been so prevalent as in our social media saturated society.  In this age of selfies, and Zoom gatherings, how do we dig deeper? This is an opportunity to expand the frame of self-portraiture.

Juror: Stephen Mangum
