Gathering to celebrate the diversity of Marin with speakers and song in Mill Valley Depot Plaza
This one-hour event is part of “Love Lives in Marin,” an ongoing effort to combat prejudice and welcome all people to our community.
We’ll hear from three locals who have faced discrimination:
– Fatima Hansia of the Mill Valley Islamic Center
– City Councilwoman Sashi McEntee
– Tam High principal J. C. Farr
Musical Performances:
Group Ukulele Jubilee & Ukulele Friends
Ohana Freedom Singers—Gonna Take Us All
Chocolate will be served!
This will be an interesting and amusing gathering on a serious subject.
Our goal is to make all people, all races and colors and faiths and orientations, feel welcome in our communities.
Love Lives in Marin is an initiative of Marin Interfaith Council (MIC) and was inspired by a visit to Whitefish, Montana, the home of Love Lives Here, a Montana non-profit organization committed to co-creating a caring, open, accepting and diverse community, free from discrimination and dedicated to equal treatment for all citizens.
Love Lives in Marin nurtures a positive, welcoming environment in Marin, and cultivates a culture of love throughout the county that reshapes our public discourse. We aspire to rise above the fray and speak with and for those whose voices are over-shadowed and marginalized, and we seek to create an inclusive community where everyone is welcome. Love Lives Here in Marin.
