Midweek Musical Matinee: A Gypsy Jazz Party
* Wednesday, December 12, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Gypsy Jazz is a style of small-group jazz which originated in France in the 1930s.
Romani guitarist Jean “Django” Reinhardt (“the most important figure in the genre”) and French swing violinist Stéphane Grappelli (also known at “the grandfather of jazz violinists”) are its founding fathers.
This hopping style of music is also called Hot Club Jazz, Romani Swing, and Manouche Jazz.
Celebrate the winter holiday season by joining us for complimentary refreshments and the joyful, upbeat sounds of the Gypsy Jazz quartet Le Hot Club Swing at this very special Musical Matinee.
