One-hour tours led by West Marin youth and adult volunteers trained by local historians
The Point Reyes Station Historical Walking Tours are one-hour tours led by youth from around West Marin and adult volunteers under the guidance of local historian Dewey Livingston.
Local geography, prehistory and the development of the town by ranchers and railroaders are some of the many interesting topics and stories covered.
The tour starts at the Visitor Center in Point Reyes Station, then heads to the overlook to the nearby Giacomini Wetlands so all can imagine what the land was like before the town was created, then heads back to the streets to learn about some of the buildings and beginnings of the town, started in 1875.
The sponsors of this program are the Tomales Bay Youth Center and the Jack Mason Museum of West Marin History.
If you are interested in getting involved, email for more info. We are still looking for youth who are interested in becoming guides.
