Celebrate the installation of Mill Valley’s first Public Art sculpture
Come and celebrate the installation of Mill Valley’s first Public Art sculpture – Aristides Demetrios’ Halley’s Comet – on October 27th starting at 11 AM, at the Mill Valley Community Center, 180 Camino Alto.
The Mill Valley Arts Commission, with the support and approval of the Mill Valley City Council, launched its Public Art Program on September 18, 2017. The program has supported art in public places such as the art benches and art boxes located throughout Mill Valley.
Aristides Demetrios’ Halley’s Comet is the first art sculpture installation as part of the program.
Aristides Demetrios, who was born in 1932, is a world-renowned sculptor who resides and owns a studio in Montecito, California. Mr. Demetrios and his artworks are considered a local treasure and are in public and private collections throughout California, nationally and internationally.
This installation would not have been possible without the support of donors such as the Enjoy Mill Valley Fund and the Outdoor Art Club.
