Seascapes – Loretta Loy-Adair presents oil paintings at Moonstruck Fine Jewelry

The Moonstruck studio and showroom features jewelry created by Johanna Hollinga and Bouke Hollinga.

Loretta Loy-Adair is an oil painter, whose initial inspiration came from her “family of artists.”  Having lived in the wine country for many years, Loretta has found her inspiration and solitude in the Northern California landscape.

Although Loretta paints a variety of subjects, her focus has been primarily on painting on location (en plein air).  This discipline also compliments her studio painting where she paints still life.  Loretta is most intrigued by direct painting, not only because it is challenging, but she feels that the immediacy exposes the true emotion of the artist when making the visual connection.

Loretta hopes to capture and convey the mood and soul of the subject in a moment of time and hopes that her work evokes a sense of peace and happiness within you.

Loretta’s works have been sold in prominent galleries in Napa, Sonoma, and San Francisco (Fairmont Gallery, North Bay Gallery, Studio Gallery, and Williams-Sonoma) and was juried into the 2016 & 2017 Carmel Plein Air Competition and California Art Club’s “City by the Bay” exhibition.  Her work, Trixie The Sebastiani Theater Ticket Taker, was on exhibit at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art’s 2007 Juried Biennial Show. Loretta is a member of the California Art Club.
