Imagination and skilled techniques are shared in the work of these two lively artists.
Using cloth applique, embroidery and amusement, Sheila Bryant creates witty portraits of such influential characters as Darwin and Tesla. Bryant graduated from Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, then lived all over the world, always carrying her embroidery projects with her.
Mort Linder hand forges12-gauge steel into finely crafted model hats, complete with hatboxes, from eras when hats were essential attire for style, status and practicality. In1969, he and his wife left his San Francisco veterinary clinic to live in Inverness and practice unfettered creativity.
