Special film presentation of The Issue with Tissue – A Boreal Love Story– Michael Zelniker’s environmental documentary on the little known, largely untold story of the boreal forest and the Indigenous Peoples who call it home.
Every year, vast stretches of Canada’s richly biodiverse boreal forest region are razed for that most literally disposable of causes: the manufacture of toilet paper.
As told by the Indigenous Elders and Leaders, scientists and activists of the boreal forest, The Issue with Tissue – A Boreal Love Story draws a connection between colonial violence and unfettered extractive industrial exploitation.
Special Opening event Sunday, November 12. Refreshments served 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Film at 5pm. Q&A with director after the screening
