Steve Baughman & Patrice Haan – Once Upon a Harp, A Celebration of Irish Music

Steve Baughman and Patrice Haan will offer two sets of music, taking turns to present arrangements of O’Carolan tunes, with the occasional song and duet to enliven the mix.

The last of the Irish bards, Turlough O’Carolan was a blind Celtic harper, composer and singer, who is considered by many to be Ireland\’s national composer.

Steve Baughman, a pioneer of arranging the music of Turlough O’Carolan for solo guitar. His “pandemic project “was to arrange, master, and then record a CD of the music, all on one guitar. In this program he will be sharing pieces from Once Upon a Harp.

Patrice Haan is thrilled to be playing harp beside Steve. A composer and singer-songwriter herself, Patrice has long been an acolyte of O’Carolan’s music. Former director of the nonprofit Healing Muses, most days Patrice plays harp for cancer patients.
