For our July 2018 exhibit, we celebrate the art of storytelling through visual arts.

As writers depict stories through plot and character, artists create stories with color, line, gesture and imagery.

Like visual storytellers Bonnard, Rauschenberg, Twombly and Joan Brown, or sculptors Giacometti and Jeff Koons, every artist has a story to tell in the visual medium.

We’ve invited artists to enter their own narratives, as contemporary, expressionistic, abstract, exploratory, and/or experimental works in all media including 3D and sculptural.

O’Hanlon Center for the Arts emphasizes the creative process and the continued pursuit of meaning and authenticity through observation, exploration, and experimentation.

Entry Fee:  $30 OHCA members, $40 non-members, for up to three pieces.

On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., the Center will host a Roundtable for the Arts dialogue, where the participating artists will discuss issues relating to their creative processes. The Roundtable is a monthly event sponsored by the Center.

The opening show and reception is part of the Mill Valley Art Commission’s monthly Gallery Walk, First Tuesday (on the second Tuesday this month, due to the July 4th holiday). The event is free of charge and open to all ages. Artwork on display is available for purchase. Proceeds from sales support local artists and the O’Hanlon Center as a non-profit organization.
