Toluma Farms & Tomales Farmstead Organic Creamery

FARM TOUR in conjunction with Bolinas Museum’s exhibition, Bounty: Fine Food Production in Coastal Marin from 1834 to the 21st Century.

After purchasing the old ranch in 2003, David Jablons, Tamara Hicks and their three daughters spent 4 years working with Marin County organizations on land restoration. In 2007, they established their organic goat and sheep ranch.

65% of milk consumption worldwide is from goat’s milk. Tomales Farmstead Creamery began producing organic artisanal goat and sheep cheeses in 2013. They milk 200 goats of a variety of breeds and over 100 East Friesian sheep. Meet the goats and sheep, taste the cheese, and explore the farm, including the restorations of their creeks and watersheds.

After the tour, visit the Tomales Regional History Center for the opening reception of their fascinating exhibit From Milk to Butter & Cheese: 160 years of Local Creameries. 1-4 PM. Cheese tasting and refreshments. 2670 Highway 1, Tomales CA.  The reception is free.
