Watercolor paintings inspired by personal encounters with Beauty
Artist Reception:
* Thursday, August 22, 6:00-9:00 pm
Exhibit Dates: August 1 – October 10
John O’Donohue, the late Irish poet, theologian and philosopher defines beauty as “anything in the presence of which we feel more alive.”
This exhibition features a series of watercolor paintings by artists from the 537 Magnolia Artists Group as they took John O’Donohue’s words as a call to action.
They translated their personal encounters with Beauty into watercolor paintings.
Nature is a strong theme in this exhibit – not only flowers, but landscapes and wildlife as well as encounters with Beauty in the human world: portraits and other representations of people and our creations.
The idea and inspiration for each painting has been sparked while each artist was taking a walk somewhere in the world.
