The West Marin Players presents Handel’s most popular pastoral opera: ACIS & GALATEA at the Dance Palace.
The West Marin Players presents Handel‘s most popular pastoral opera: ACIS & GALATEA.
The opera, based on Ovid’s Metamorphoses, tells of the love between Acis, an Arcadian shepherd, and Galatea, a sea nymph.
The West Marin Players began at the Dance Palace Community & Cultural Center in 2011 with a performance of Iolanthe with musical direction by renowned operatic conductor, Deborah Benedict.
In subsequent years the West Marin Players produced three additional Gilbert & Sullivan operettas and Frank Loesser’s The Most Happy Fella. Most recently in 2016, they collaborated with singers from San Francisco’s 42nd Street Moon to perform A Broadway Nostalgia Celebration.
