Kelly Alsup’s writing can be found in Bombay Gin, Buddhist Poetry Review, and Inverness Almanac. She celebrates publication of her first chapbook, When If Ever Alive in 2018.

Lucy Jane Bledsoe is the author of six novels, including the just-released The Evolution of Love and her story collection, Lava Falls, is forthcoming in fall 2018.

Jane Rosenberg LaForge is a poet and author of two full-length poetry collections and four chapbooks; an experimental memoir; and a just published novel, The Hawkman: A Fairy Tale of the Great War.

Jan Reid is the author of three books of acclaimed non-fiction and three award-winning novels, the latest of which he considers his best, Sins of the Younger Sons. A resident of Austin, Texas, he is the recipient of the Texas Institute of Letters’ career achievement award.

Jenn Scott‘s debut collection of stories, Her Adult Life, was just published this year by Acre Books. Her stories have appeared in such places as Gettysburg Review, Santa Monica Review, Gulf Coast, and many other fine journals.

Townsend Walker’s short stories have appeared in over seventy-five literary journals. “A Little Love, A Little Shove” and “Holding Tight,” both nominated for PEN/O.Henry Awards, are included in his new collection, 3 Women, 4 Towns, 5 Bodies.

Why There Are Words (WTAW) is an award-winning national reading series founded in Sausalito in 2010 by Peg Alford Pursell, now expanded to six additional major cities in the U.S. with more planned in the future. The series draws a full house of Bay Area residents every second Thursday to Studio 333, located at 333 Caledonia Street, Sausalito. The series is part of the 501(c)3 non-profit WTAW Press.
