Wine Tasting Fundraising Event
Join Art Works Downtown an elegant & educational evening of wine tasting event with JCB Alchemy
* Saturday, May 20, 5:00 pm — 7:00 pm
Join us for an elegant and educational evening of wine tasting to learn about the JCB Alchemy of the Senses wine series, led by Naomi Polite, a long-time Marin restauranteur. Donors will delight in five wine varietal types with light appetizer surrounded by artworks from the Delicious exhibition—juried by Julie Zener—in Art Works Downtown’s Gallery 1337.
A special pre-event is available for VIPs level ticket holders, which will include sparkling wine, private art studio tours, and special event gift bag.
Your generous support will help make this a creative, vibrant, and social evening while raising funds for Art Works Downtown, a Marin County nonprofit visual arts community. Bottles and artwork will be available for purchase.
About Naomi Polite
I fell in love with the food & hospitality business at the age of 18, on a world wind trip to Europe. Choosing to pursue a career in hospitality & food, I went to chef school in LA, and continued my studies in Santa Barbara, where I received my degree in Hotel Restaurant Management. Since my desire was more food driven, I went to the New School for Social Research in New York, focused my studies in professional catering, and enjoyed several amazing NY restaurants. I returned to Los Angeles and opened my catering business at the age of 22. I had a great run, however after 10 years, I was ready for a move to Marin and to apply my degree in HRM. I formed a new love with the wine industry and was soon managing and wine buying for a small boutique hotel & restaurant.
In 2013, I opened a restaurant with a wine bar, met my future husband and by 2017, with 30 years in the business, left the restaurant industry. I sent my daughter off to college and got married shortly after that. Retirement didn’t suit me and my love for good wine did, so I joined the JCB team to learn, meet new people, and continue to follow my passion for great wines.
About Jean-Charles Boisset
Jean-Charles Boisset was born into the world of wine in the village of Vougeot, Burgundy, France. His lifelong passion for wine began as a child, growing up above the cellars and within view of the centuries-old vineyards of Château du Clos Vougeot, the epicenter and birthplace of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. His parents, Jean-Claude and Claudine, founded the family winery in 1961 with an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit in one of the most traditional winegrowing regions in the world. Today, the family collection includes wineries that share more than 18 centuries of combined winemaking heritage and tradition in some of the world’s most prestigious terroirs, from Burgundy to the South of France, to California’s Napa Valley and Russian River Valley.
