Winter Open Juried Exhibition 2022

Open juried exhibition of artists residing within the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area

The 2022 Winter Open Juried Exhibition includes artists residing within the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area, working in all media except jewelry and videography.

Juror of Selection – Michael Friedland
Michael studied painting and design at Paier College of Art, Coronado School of Fine Arts and Philadelphia College of Art. Retired now from a forty-year career as a designer, he has been teaching painting (with watercolor) for the past seven years. He teaches at Falkirk, in Corte Madera and Mill Valley and in Oakland with CWA’s Community Outreach program teaches Vietnam veterans. He also teaches for several weeks each year in Yosemite’s artist in residency program. Michael is on the board of directors of the California Watercolor Association and is Director of their National Exhibit. He is a member of the BayWood Artists.

Juror of Awards – Gary Bukovnik
Cleveland-born and educated Gary Bukovnik has lived in San Francisco for over 40 years. Bukovnik’s art conveys a monumental quality. Primarily using the mediums of watercolor, monotype, and lithograph. Bukovnik fuses sensual vitality with fluid yet powerful colorations, creating floral images of great depth and intensity. In 2003 and 2005, the American Academy in Rome invited Bukovnik to attend the academy as a Visiting Artist and provided him with a room and studio for six weeks. In 2001, he was selected to create a poster for the prestigious List Collection, which creates posters to commemorate programs at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York. Lincoln Center past contributors have included Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Motherwell, Helen Frankenthaler, Alex Katz, Elizabeth Murray, and Donald Sultan.

PARKING INFO

Guests may park on the right hand side of the driveway and may also use adjacent City of San Rafael parking lots with consideration to hourly limits on certain days of the week. Saturdays and Sundays are free of most parking restrictions in these lots.

Handicapped parking and wheelchair accessibility on the first floor. Art Galleries are located on the 2nd floor and there is no ADA approved access at this time.
