English National Ballet: Akram Kahn’s Giselle

CineLife Entertainment®, in partnership with More2Screen, bring Akram Khan’s Giselle to U.S. cinemas, giving ballet fans the opportunity to see this award-winning production in glorious high definition on the big cinema screen.

One of the greatest romantic ballets of all time, Giselle has been reimagined by celebrated choreographer Akram Khan.

In this retold story of love, betrayal and redemption, Tamara Rojo, Lead Principal and Artistic Director of English National Ballet, dances the role of Giselle, one of a community of migrant workers cast out of their jobs in a condemned garment factory.

Directed for the screen by Ross MacGibbon.

Matthew Bourne’s The Red Shoes comes to cinemas for the first time. A tale of obsession, possession and one girl’s dream to be the greatest dancer in the world. Victoria Page lives to dance but her ambitions become a battleground between the two men who inspire her passion.

Matthew Bourne’s magical adaptation of the classic Powell and Pressburger film is set to the achingly romantic music of golden-age Hollywood composer Bernard Herrmann, the production is orchestrated by Terry Davies, with stunning designs by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Paul Groothuis and projection design by Duncan McLean.

Starring Ashley Shaw as Victoria Page, Adam Cooper as Boris Lermontov and Dominic North as Julian Craster. It will dazzle your senses and break your heart. Based on the film by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger and the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale.

 

Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake

Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake comes to cinemas with a fresh look for the 21st century. This thrilling, audacious and witty production is perhaps still best known for replacing the female corps-de-ballet with a menacing male ensemble, which shattered convention, turned tradition upside down and took the dance world by storm.

Retaining the iconic elements of the original staging loved by millions around the world, Matthew Bourne and award-winning designers Lez Brotherston (Set & Costumes) and Paule Constable (Lighting) have re-imagined of this classic New Adventures production. Filmed live at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake stars Will Bozier as The Swan/The Stranger, Liam Mower as The Prince and Nicole Kabera as The Queen.

Collecting over thirty international accolades including an Olivier Award and three Tonys on Broadway, Matthew Bourne’s powerful interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s beloved tale is a passionate and contemporary Swan Lake for our times.
