**CANCELLED** Announcing the 2020 Youth Poster Contest
As all Marin schools are closed and the prognosis is that they will be closed for the remainder of this school year, we have decided to terminate the 2020 Youth Poster Contest.
A few weeks back I heard from a few teachers wondering if we could postpone the submission deadline until after June 1. But the reality is, I find it difficult to believe that students who are not in school now, where the majority of posters are developed, will work on posters independently.
Added to the dilemma is the fact that our poster drop-off location and the site of our annual Awards Ceremony, RileyStreet Art Supply, is closed indefinitely.
For the past three years Marin middle and high school students have stood up and spoken out about social injustice and other issues that were important to them. We all hoped that this, our fourth year of the Youth Poster Contest, would provide an even greater opportunity for that important messaging by our youth. Needless to say, this is not how I wished it would be, on so many levels. But we have no choice but to come to this decision.
Let me personally thank you all for your understanding and tremendous support of the Youth Poster Contest. My sincerest best wishes for your safety and continued good health.
Most sincerely,
Bruce
