Community Media Center of Marin

The Community Media Center of Marin (CMCM) is a non-profit organization providing residents of Marin County with access to communication technologies, media training, and the latest digital tools to create original content for cable TV and online media. CMCM operates Marin TV, Marin County's own non-commercial community, educational, and governmental cable channels. Marin TV is available on Comcast (channels 26, 27, & 30) and AT&T U-Verse (channel 99), reaching more than 70,000 Marin households. Marin TV programming is also viewable online via our live streams. CMCM also offers special organizational services and fee-for-service production assistance for schools, non-profits, and government agencies. Marin is watching Marin TV. Are you what’s on? Italian Film Festival

Originally started as an informal, one-time only presentation of Italian movies in a college lecture hall, the Italian Film Festival of Marin County has grown over its 40 years into a perennial favorite in the San Francisco Bay Area. From the beginning it has been a labor of love for its longtime director, Lido Cantarutti. Under his direction the program has included appearances from Italian film directors and composers, dignitaries of the Italian and Italian-American communities, and an authentically Italian atmosphere at every presentation. The centerpiece, however, is always top-quality Italian cinema.

Jewish Film Festival

The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival (SFJFF), presented by the Jewish Film Institute, is the largest and longest-running festival of its kind and a leader in the curation and presentation of new film and media exploring the complexities of Jewish life around the world. SFJFF attracts more than 40,000 filmgoers and industry professionals to its annual three weeks of inspiring films, events, panels and parties. Screenings take place at the historic Castro theatre in San Francisco and venues throughout the Bay Area including Marin during July and August.

Mill Valley Arts Commission

The Mill Valley Arts Commission endeavors to enhance the cultural life of the community. It does this by promoting the visual and performing arts through events it sponsors. The Commission arranges monthly art exhibits at City Hall and the Community Center as part of the First Tuesday ArtWalk and publishes the monthly gallery guide. The Commission also sponsors Concerts in the Plaza, Comedy Night and the Paint Off events. Meetings The Mill Valley Arts Commission meets at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday of each month on the second floor conference room of City Hall, 26 Corte Madera, Mill Valley, CA. The meetings are open to the public. Additional information about volunteering, donating to the organization or applying for open positions on the Arts Commission. The Arts Commission manages visual and performing arts activities, events and programs, enjoyed in Mill Valley throughout the year. The Commission also hosts Concerts in the Plaza and the Comedy Night in the Plaza throughout the summer months and an annual photography competition, “The Click Off”, each fall. Recent years have seen increased support of the Arts Commission, thanks to passionate support from City Council, and enthusiastic advocacy by members of the arts community.

Mill Valley Film Festival

Marin County's eleven-day international film festival. Each year the festival welcomes more than 200 filmmakers, representing more than 50 countries. The relaxed and non-competitive atmosphere surrounding MVFF, gives filmmakers and audiences alike the opportunity to share their work and experiences in a collaborative and convivial setting. Since founding the Mill Valley Film Festival in 1977, Mark Fishkin has shepherded this once small, three-day showcase into an eleven-day, internationally acclaimed cinema event presenting a wide variety of new films from around the world in an engaged, community setting. The festival has an impressive track record of launching new films and new filmmakers, and has earned a reputation as a filmmakers’ festival by celebrating the best in American independent and foreign films, along side high-profile and prestigious award contenders.

The Community Center is open Monday - Friday 9am-5pm, and Evenings and Weekends for scheduled programs. The Mill Valley Community Center is open to EVERYONE - including non-residents. We offer year-round activities and programs for all ages designed to enrich our community, including Classes, Camps, Workshops and Special Events. Our Art activities includes monthly Art Exhibits, a Holiday Art Fair, Spring Craft Fair, Summer Concerts and Comedy with collaboration of the Mill Valley Arts Commission. We offer Art Classes, Workshops and Private Lessons including: Painting, Photography, Dance, Music and more! The center is designed as two buildings, the first of which is comprised of a large, reception hall, teen and senior centers, meeting spaces, and activity rooms. The second building is dedicated to swimming and fitness and includes an indoor swimming pool and retractable roof, a 120-foot spiral waterslide, Jacuzzi spa, and outdoor patio. Red Spoke Films

Red Spoke Films produces documentary films that tell compelling stories about unique individuals both historical and contemporary. Our first film, Mata Hari The Naked Spy has been completed. It currently is being screened in theaters and distributed to the foreign broadcast market. It will be released online in 2020. We are well into production on our next film, Viva Burlesque!
