Ann Brooks, is an artist and designer who has worn many hats through the years: Jeweler, photographer, weaver, architectural and interior designer.

Ann calls herself a Fine Craft Artist. Her artistic expression is almost always as much functional as visual. Her current work is strongly influenced by having learned knitting and sewing at her mother’s knee.

In her textile art series reflects an obsession with Pockets. “Secret Pockets” are small neck or shoulder bags for phones, keys, glasses, or whatever. “Vest Pockets”, are stylish reversible vests in a sometimes wild mixture of fabrics and yes, always a pocket.

Ann’s joy in designing and making this wearable art shows in their playful combinations of color and pattern and often a bit of humor or a surprise. Her work is often described as both contemporary and classic,

Currently in her studio, in addition to her textile art, you will find her jewelry and photography.
