Nanette Biers is a Northern California painter with a rich and varied background of professional achievement. She received her Bachelor's degree in Fine Art with honors from UC Berkeley. Beginning in 1980, for three decades she pursued a career as a freelance commercial illustrator, working through her NYC agents, Morgan Gaynin, Inc., and garnering awards and appearances in several prestigious illustration annuals. Today her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections around the country. In 2009, inspired by the scenic beauty of Northern California, Nanette shifted the focus of her career to depicting fine art images, primarily landscapes in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as scenes from the California central coast and the wine country. She also began painting landscapes en plein air, adding a new source of excitement and challenge to her work. She has participated in dozens of group shows during the past decade, many of them hosted by the California Art Club, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and the American Impressionist Society, winning several awards. Since 2015 she's been included as a participating artist in "Ranches and Rolling Hills", the renowned fundraising exhibition benefiting the Marin Agricultural Land Trust. In 2019 she was accepted into the California Art Club's prestigious 108th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition. She has resided in Marin County, CA for over 30 years.
