A premiere youth Songwriters workshop focusing on music production and development with a performance opportunity!
Ages: 12-17
Learn to create the music that inspires you in this new workshop, which breaks down the creative process in terms of songwriting and production.
Under the direction of musical artist & producer Curtis Aikens and DJ Noah Frank, students will learn the basics of music production; topics include recording, mixing, mastering, sound design and beat creation.
The class will also cover the fundamentals of songwriting, including understanding various song forms, melodies, the interaction and use of rhythm and harmony and lyric writing.
Students will finish the class with a greater understanding of how to put their ideas to paper and then bring them to life in the studio.
The class will culminate in a performance of the songs/music at Throckmorton Theatre's Spring Open Mic Night on May 17th.
Tuition: $300 plus $8 software cost (Financial aid is available, $60 deposit to hold a spot. Contact Barb Nimmons for a financial aid form.)
