Anna Halprin's Planetary Dance

Anna Halprin's Planetary Dance

Presented by Planetary Dance Committee at Santos Meadow, Mount Tamalpais State Park

On Sunday, June 3, internationally renowned dance artist Anna Halprin will lead her 38th Annual Planetary Dance—an inspiring participatory dance for peace among people and peace with the earth—at 11 am in Santos Meadow, Frank Valley Road (aka Muir Woods Road), Mt. Tamalpais State Park.

This year the focus is on sanctuary and its many meanings, including safety for children, refugees, immigrants, communities of color, and the environment.

“The Planetary Dance encourages people to find ways that express their inherent connections to each other and to the planet,” says Halprin. “It gives people hope that they can learn to live in harmony even when they feel threatened on all sides. And it offers an opportunity for participants to voice their concerns and embody these in a way that impels them to take action.”

All ages and abilities are invited to participate in this community ritual. Please bring your own water and lunch food.

Parking passes required (click 'Tickets' link above to register for a free pass). Early risers can join a special sunrise ceremony atop Mt. Tam.
