Big Blu Soul Revue

Presented by Fenix at Fenix

Big Blu Soul Revue brings the soul of San Francisco to their music. With an extreme passion for 60s and 70s Soul, Funk, and Jazz, the band shares musical influences that range from Soul legends like Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone, Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, and Marvin Gaye to Funk and Jazz artists like The Meters, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Smith, and Grant Green. With their fresh approach, they bring a wide array of infectious dance grooves to their high-energy live shows.

Formed in 2012 by longtime Bay Area guitarist and vocalist Jason Movrich, the band is comprised of a tight group of top-notch musicians, including Giuseppe Pinto on keyboards and vocals, Lydia Walker on vocals, Hermann Lara on tenor and alto sax, Brian Lassiter on alto and baritone sax, Jason Bartlett on bass, and Blake Ritterman on drums.

The band’s music is strongly influence by the classic sounds of Motown, Stax, Daptone, and Blue Note Records, but with a fresh, original spin. Movrich says that their “ultimate goal is to connect with our audience, get you to feel the groove that makes you want to dance.”

Big Blu Soul Revue performs throughout the West Coast to strong, enthusiastic audiences, performing regularly at famed Bay Area venues like Yoshi’s, Sweetwater Music Hall, Brick & Mortar Music Hall, Elbo Room, de Young Museum, Ashkenaz, Lagunitas TapRoom, and many more.
